Salad Days

by Dorothy Reynolds & Julian Slade
Saturday 30 November - Saturday 7 December 2002
The Playhouse Theatre, Cheltenham

A complete change of pace for the Society with this musical comedy: we present 'Salad Days', by Julian Slade and Dorothy Reynolds.

Written in 1954, it is set in a summer haze of Debs and magic with the catchiest tunes and sunniest humour. Timothy (Jonathan Dyer) and Jane (Sarah Keene) leave university unable to decide what to do next, but sure they do not wish to follow their parents' plans. They are asked to look after a piano - a magic piano - which soon has the whole town dancing. To the official mind this 'unregulated gaiety' must be suppressed, but no one can resist. The action moves rapidly through entertaining scenes, whether in nightclub or beauty salon, and you will see us as never before!

From lyrical to comic, the music will cheer the chilliest winter evening, so please join us to 'sit in the sun' at the Playhouse Theatre between 30th November and 7th December.
